The Burgh Crew 2016 Season Preview
As a 2-time league champion, appearing in 3 Championship games, reigning champ, and, coincidentally, the commissioner of our league, I wanted to address everyone and wish everyone “good luck” this year.
A couple of years ago, I floated the idea of purchasing real trophies for the winner and loser of the league. Even though I thought this could have been a neat idea, it did not seem to garner any interest. I did, however, make some virtual trophies.
My motivation was not based on the fact that I have won twice, but because, selfishly, I just wanted some way to show how Ron – look ma no hands – has claimed the “Toilet Bowl” title twice! He almost had a 3-peat, but Mike – Rabid Spider Monkeys – claimed the crown this past season, and ended Ron’s run. I think we can all agree, that for how much Ron talks a good talk about NFL games, players, and stats, he has not figured out how to play Fantasy Football.
Make sure you have logged into your team, and have selected your “Keeper” for the season. Download the Yahoo Sports app to your smart phone. This, not only, allows for better team management, but also gives you quick access to the messages that Jon – 6 Ringers – sends out to complain about his team; sure it has been a couple of seasons since he has complained, but it would be nice if we helped pile on when the man is down.
Maybe this will be the year that Jim – Bleeds Black-N-Gold – gets over the hump and wins it all. He has made it to, at least, the 2nd round of the playoffs every year, but has yet to be crowned “The Champ.”
Could Kyle – Helmet Wearers – benefit from another fantastic Yahoo auto-draft, and get another championship? I’m just joking, we all know you had Rachel’s help that year.
Can we have side bets this year? If Chelsie does better than Brady, again, we kick Brady out of the league, and keep Chelsie?
